How GaleProof Reports works

GaleProof Reports is a free web tool that documents wind and gust exposure at a U.S. property address using verified public weather datasets.

Who is GaleProof Reports for?

Public adjusters, roofing and restoration contractors, insurance professionals, and homeowners use GaleProof when they need address-specific gust history around a date of loss — without opening multiple government portals or paying for a full weather analytics subscription.

What problem does GaleProof solve?

GaleProof Reports delivers free, address-level wind history using verified ERA5 reanalysis and ASOS station observations — so adjusters, contractors, and homeowners can document gust exposure without a paid Canopy or OneClick subscription. Paid platforms such as OneClick Code and Canopy Weather bundle broader analytics and carrier integrations; GaleProof focuses on fast, self-service gust documentation backed by ERA5 and ASOS for preliminary claim support.

Step-by-step workflow

  1. Enter the loss location. Provide a U.S. street address and the date of loss. Select a lookback period (90 days to 5 years).
  2. Geocode and model wind. GaleProof resolves the property coordinates, then queries ERA5 reanalysis via Open-Meteo for sustained wind and gust estimates at the site timezone.
  3. Enrich with observations. Nearby ASOS stations supply measured daily gust peaks. NOAA Local Storm Reports, NCEI storm events, and HRRR guidance are retrieved when available.
  4. Review and export. The on-screen report includes a storm history table, verification notes, and a provenance panel with UTC retrieval timestamps. Download a PDF for your claim file.

Data sources cited in every report

Each PDF lists the agencies and datasets used, including ECMWF ERA5, NOAA ASOS/NWS, NOAA storm databases, and NCEI where applicable.

Important disclaimer

GaleProof Reports is a documentation aid using public reanalysis and observational data. It is not a certified forensic meteorology opinion and does not replace licensed engineers or carrier-mandated vendors when formal expert testimony is required.
